A Smile on Pixie's Face

Irma Jeanne Staley Ullrich, aka Pixie, got a real treat in December as she was handed the keys to Tony "Smoke" Stewart's black Camaro. Pixie was awarded the Camaro after winning a raffle from the Tony Stewart Foundation, which raises funds for various charities.

Pixie, a huge fan of Stewart, bought eight raffle tickets in March and when she received an E-mail from the foundation in October, she could not believe it. Pixie was in Paris helping out her brother at the Pumpkin Works, formerly Staley Farm where she grew up, when she found out the news.

"I thought some of my friends were playing a joke on me," Pixie said.

She went so far as to call her son in Colorado to have him check her tickets to see if the numbers matched. Pixie called the Foundation and was assured she had indeed won.

"It took about a month for it to all sink in," Pixie said. "I never win anything ... it was hard to comprehend that I actually had won Smoke's Camaro."

Pixie purchases tickets for the raffle every year, and though she did not expect to win, she knew her money was going to a good cause. Her winning ticket was one in 3,000.

Pixie was flown down to Brownsburg, Ind. on Dec. 8, 2011 to attend a luncheon with Stewart and have the keys presented to her on Dec. 9 at Stewart's garage.

"It was like being queen for a day," she said.

Stewart signed her new car as well as Pixie's racing jacket, a picture of the car and a book on the Camaro, which he signed "To Pixie, no speeding tickets, Tony Stewart."
The car was dropped off by Stewart's dad to her hometown of Golden, Colo., where Pixie was walked down the red carpet to a showroom party with her new car. Though it was about 40 degrees out, Pixie drove her Camaro home with the top down.

"It's awesome," Pixie said of the car. The black Camaro is the one actually driven by Stewart and has leather seats, a V-8 engine and a black rag top.
